The Liberty Hotel is located at the foot of Beacon Hill. It is an imaginative transformation of the storied Charles Street Jail. Built in 1851, it is a national historic landmark and an architectural gem. The hotel houses 298 re-invented rooms and suites. There are five restaurants on-site, numerous bars, and 6000 sq feet of meeting and event space.
Gerry Mendoza is the Chief Engineer at the Liberty Hotel. Gerry plays an important role in maintaining a safe and fully functioning hotel, while ensuring compliance with various federal, state and local environmental, health, safety, operating and building codes, standards and regulations. He is responsible for everything from hotel remodels, to making sure the elevators are running smoothly and safely. Waste and recycling also plays a large part in everyday operations, and can be very time consuming. On a weekly basis Gerry is handling the disposal of old mattresses, furniture, electronics, and general everyday waste and recycling for the hotel. This takes up a lot of time that could be spent on higher priority tasks.
WastePlace is the first automated online marketplace for the waste and recycling industry. We offer a national network of fully insured and vetted haulers. WastePlace allows The Liberty Hotel to handle all of their disposal needs in one place. Gerry can now request a quote for waste services, and receive bids back from local haulers who have availability around his request. Through the WastePlace platform he can request additional services, and communicate with his chosen hauler. At the end of each project Gerry receives one invoice from WastePlace. Since partnering with WastePlace he has seen a significant reduction in unnecessary man hours, paperwork, and overall cost.
Finally a company that gets it! managing my waste and recycling removal has never been so easy.
